First Ever Lighting of the Mayor's Tree in Liberty Plaza

A locally-sourced live-cut 18’ tree will be Branson’s first Mayor’s Christmas tree. Lighting the tree to begin our Christmas season of celebration will be taking place in Historic Downtown’s Liberty Plaza on Thursday, November 1 at 6:00PM. The City of Branson’s Parks and Recreation Department team, Liberty Utilities – Empire District Electric, and the Downtown Branson Betterment Association have come together to start a new Branson tradition of finding a beautiful, live-cut tree to adorn Liberty Plaza.

Festivities on November 1 will include Mayor Best’s lighting of the tree, music, candy canes, Santa and a hot cocoa bar sponsored by The Crystal Fish - Gifts of Distinction. Branson has become “America’s Christmas Tree City” in recent years and Historic Downtown is adding to the Christmas tree spirit. In addition to the Mayor’s Tree, 70 small, fresh-cut trees will line downtown streets paying homage to the 70th Anniversary Adoration Parade in Downtown Branson on Sunday, December 2 at dusk.

Branson is known for honoring the true meaning of Christmas.Join the Downtown Betterment Association in celebration as they create another tradition in Historic Downtown. This family-friendly event is free and open to all.
